IxD - Discipline and Schools

Long time ... no blogging... Nice to return to write something useful on Interaction Design. I was reading something inspiring from the odannyboy who has been writing for atleast 3 years(refering to his arhives :) ) India is just growing up and starting to mature itself in product and interaction design, the key reason being the kind of cut-throat competition that demands quick products that solve user's problems ! rather than give a good experience to the users. Adding to this, the very few(less than 5) good design schools in India churn out people into the services industry than core domain of Industrial Design or Interaction Design. Thats a sorry state. Hope the governtment heeds to the noices made less often and so something about this. It always puzzled me why a country with such good economical growth these days couldn't boast of good design schools and world class design. Need answers!!!
